It's hard to pinpoint exactly where the idea of a shared office space came from, but it's not hard to see why it's been so successful. Businesses from all walks are flocking to these places of creativity and activity, all of them hoping to catch lighting in a bottle at some point and to turn their presence into profits. Their popularity has surged over the last couple of calendar years, and there are now shared office spaces in just about every city in the country. With Office Evolution Columbus in downtown Columbus, Ohio, to the myriad of options in New York City, if you run a business and you're looking for a shared office space you shouldn't have any trouble finding one. The following is a list of the top ten reasons why moving into such a space is a great idea. After reading this you'll be convinced to move into one as well.

1. They save you money. The first reason why moving into a shared office space is such a great idea is the money that it saves you. You get all of the things of a traditional office space (and much more!) at a fraction of the cost.

2. Creativity abounds. When you're working around all sorts of other people and creative minds, creativity abounds. It's beneficial for all business owners to be in such a space.

3. Access to printers, fax machines, etc. When you share an office space, you also share printers, fax machines, high-speed internet, and more. It's one of the great benefits.

4. Access to conference/board rooms. It's great when you share a space with others because when you're all chipping in you get access to things you couldn't afford on your own. Throw access to conference/board/meeting rooms into that group.

5. Free coffee. What more needs to be said?

6. People to collaborate with. When you work in a shared office space you get a chance to work closely and collaborate with others. This can lead to all sorts of business ideas that benefit you in the short and long term.

7. People to trade services with. It's great working with others in a close space because you can swap services with other people, something that always benefits both parties.

8. Accountability. One of the issues that entrepreneurs and owners of start ups run into is that because they're working out of their home or apartment they have a hard time being held accountable. By choosing an office space where you're going to be working around other people, a level of accountability will be laid in.

9. Education. At many of the top coworking spaces, there are opportunities to listen to speakers and business leaders who have great and powerful messages to share. Part of the appeal of these spaces is the continuing education that their residents often get.

10. The space without the rules. At the end of the day, choosing a coworking space over a traditional office space simply means getting a legitimate office space without all the rules that generally come along.
